When you sign up for Water Street’s Loyalty Rewards, you earn three reward points for every dollar you spend at any of our café locations. These points can be redeemed for discounts, OR you can choose to donate a portion directly to our Featured Non-Profit. From January through March 2024, our Featured Non-Profit is MRC Industries.

All people have the need and ability to contribute to society. At MRC Industries, it’s their mission to encourage and support individuals living with a disability to achieve their fullest potential through employment, skill building, and active community involvement. MRC’s vision is to be the provider of choice for individuals and employers through continuous improvement, innovation, and leadership. MRC serves youth and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities, traumatic brain injuries, emotional impairments and mental illness.

MRC Industries began in the 1940’s when a group of parents took the initiative to provide alternatives for their disabled children. Incorporated officially in 1969, MRC has remained close to its family roots while evolving into a non-profit agency that administers innovative and diverse services through its programs: McKersher Skill-Building Services, Bridge Ways Case Management and Community Employment. Annually, MRC serves nearly 700 clients and have improved the lives of thousands of individuals over the last 50 plus years!

The annual Kalamazoo Klassic 10k run and 5k walk/run is the sole fundraising event MRC holds. Upwards of 700 individuals participate in this Maple Street neighborhood community tradition for the past 45 years. MRC Industries has been a pillar of support for individuals with disabilities in our community. They are dedicated to providing vocational training, employment opportunities, and community integration programs that enhance the quality of life for those they serve. Their commitment to fostering independence and inclusion aligns with their values and contributes to making Kalamazoo an especially meaningful place.

Water Street’s Loyalty Rewards Program began in 2018 and features a new non-profit each quarter. With the help of our customers, we've been able to give a total of $12,900 to non-profit organizations to help support the important work they do in our community.
