Loyalty Rewards Support Family Health Center
Give back with every sip!
When you sign up for Water Street’s Loyalty Rewards, you earn three reward points for every dollar you spend at any of our café locations. These points can be redeemed for discounts, OR you can choose to donate a portion directly to our Featured Non-profit. From April through June 2021, you helped raise $791 for Family Health Center.
Family Health Center (FHC) was founded in 1971 in a refurbished trailer on the Northside of Kalamazoo. With the vision of founder and longtime board member, Moses Walker, they are dedicated to being a place where all members of the greater Kalamazoo community can access quality, comprehensive, patient-centered health care.
FHC averages 50,000 unique patients per year and almost 160,000 visits per year. They accept patients without insurance and offer a sliding scale to make services more affordable.
In 2020, Family Health Center adjusted their scope of services to include COVID-19 testing and adapt ongoing services to the pandemic protocols. This year, they were able to provide an additional, targeted space for the most vulnerable populations of the community to receive vaccinations.
Throughout the year, FHC typically hosts two large community events: the Back to School Bash and Dental Day of Caring. Last year, in light of the pandemic, they adapted to offering community testing events — large-4/1/2020drive-thru testing sites around Kalamazoo County. This year, they replicated their drive-thru testing processes into drive-thru COVID-19 vaccination events. As of March 5, 2021, Family Health Center, in partnership with Bronson, has been able to vaccinate more than 1,700 people, with more events planned in the coming weeks.
Water Street is proud to support Family Health Center and hopes you can help us in this effort.
