As of March 4, 2024, We have opened our seventh location. The new location is on the South Campus of Bronson Methodist Hospital at 601 John Street and will primarily serve patients, visitors and staff. For those familiar with the hospital layout, the location is on the Garden Level adjacent to the SkyCourt Café in space formerly occupied by the Garden Bistro.

We drew inspiration from the existing indoor garden, sky lighting, green architectural metal railings and maple wood finishes. The concept that followed further emphasizes the effect of the garden space by pulling it into the aesthetic of café, communicating a space for rejuvenation. The main design elements are five different glass tile mosaics. These mosaics are based off of photographs taken by our Creative Director, Kirsten Field, at the Garfield Park Conservatory in Chicago.

Together with the tile manufacturer, Artaic, vitreous glass tiles were digitally assigned from their color palette of tiles to the photographs. The results at a distance are recognizable bromeliads and palms. Up close, they are a pixelated study of leaf structures and textures, highlighting the subtle and explosive colors of nature.

Like other Water Street Coffee Joints we are fully equipped to make lattes, brewed coffee, loose-leaf tea, shakes, and smoothies. There will also be seasonal food menu filled with a wide variety of breakfast sandwiches and burritos, scones, muffins, artisan sandwiches, salads, entrees, and desserts.

Water Street Coffee Joint, Inc. is locally owned and has been operating cafés in the Kalamazoo and Portage area since 1993. All coffees are roasted in-house in small batches and food menus are hand-made daily utilizing fresh produce. Catering for pick-up can be ordered through our online portal. We also distribute wholesale coffee and services all over Michigan and surrounding areas.
