Loyalty Rewards Support Wellspring/Cori Terry & Dancers
Give back with every sip!
When you sign up for Water Street’s Loyalty Rewards, you earn three reward points for every dollar you spend at any of our café locations. These points can be redeemed for discounts, OR you can choose to donate a portion directly to our Featured Charity. From January through March 2021, you helped raise $1,164 for Wellspring/Cori Terry & Dancers.
Founded in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1981, under the direction of Cori Terry, Wellspring offers a unique and authentic voice in modern dance which serves to inspire, engage and educate our community. They are Southwest Michigan's only professional modern dance company and dance academy.
Wellspring is the proud torch-bearer of the normative method of dance. Originally developed by Erick Hawkins, this method is now considered one of the most influential developments in the art form. Students who study this method are taught healthy modes of self-expression, along with teamwork, problem-solving, and full-body learning, all of which benefit their movement skills as well as their cognitive and relational functioning.
The company presents dance education, 'learning-through-movement' literacy education, and arts outreach programming to up to 6,000 people annually, through its Dance Academy and the Community Engagement through Dance (CETD) program.
As one of the first occupants of the Epic Center, it has been drawing people downtown for concerts, classes, the Regional Alternative Dance Festival (RADFest) and its many other events for four decades. RAD Fest brings over 250 dance artists from around the world to Kalamazoo for a weekend of live performances, masterclasses, screendance showings, and networking events. The festival will celebrate it’s 12th anniversary in March of 2021 with an all virtual festival. This program is open to the public and includes many free events.
Wellspring also presents, in collaboration with KC Ready 4s, Ready Movers for preschoolers in the Kalamazoo area. Ready Movers is a creative movement experience that teaches mindfulness and stress reduction techniques to children.
Water Street is proud to support Wellspring/Cori Terry & Dancers and hopes you can help us in this effort.
