The Downtown Café is our original location that opened in 1993 on the corner of Kalamazoo Ave. and Water St. in Kalamazoo, MI. The building dates back to 1934, originally housing Triangle Gasoline and Service station; the oil change pit is where our current dining area resides.
When the studying and work is done, sit back and enjoy a craft cocktail or refreshing local beer.
Come to the center of downtown to enjoy our cozy indoor seating lit by a wall of floor to ceiling windows, decorated with our signature sunburst lights and frequently updated local artwork. Our popular outdoor patio seating has shaded and sunny options and is dog-friendly.

We love that our roots are in the center of downtown Kalamazoo and that the building we call home once fueled comings and goings just as we do today. The Downtown Café has woven itself into the lives of Kalamazoo residents and visitors.
Like our other locations, the Downtown Café offers fresh house roasted coffee, full espresso bar, loose-leaf teas, shakes, smoothies, and more. Downtown favorites include Iced Coffee with a BANG, Sleeping Bear Mocha, and Dolce de Leche.
And don’t forget to pair your beverage of choice with one of our food favorites. With a sizeable deli, the Downtown Café has great choices to enjoy in the café or to take with you for breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessert. Tempt your tastebuds with one of our made from scratch baked goods, homemade soups, sandwiches, salads, savories and the most incredible and unique dessert varieties; all handmade using real ingredients in our very own Kitchen.
While you’re there visit our retail walls for an ever-changing selection of bagged coffee, teas, home brewing equipment, travel mugs, t-shirts and other coffee goods.
